“I have to bring to your notice a terrifying reality: with the development of nuclear weapons, Man has acquired, for the first time in history, the technical means to destroy the whole of civilization in a single act.”

Peace…

It is as vital to our survival as food, water and air. Eaton Park, Pugwash

The need for peace is a need that is shared by every single human being. And yet, in times of conflict, so many of us forget our humanity, and ignore the humanity of others.

The goal of the Pugwash Peace Exchange is to build the world's foremost educational and interpretive centre for peace.

We will provide a forum where people of all ages and backgrounds can exchange ideas, experiences and knowledge. Our visitors will have access to support and resources on peace, nuclear non-proliferation, and the Human Security Agenda. We aim to be an international resource centre where students, diplomats, tourists, educators, families, and any other visitors can be educated and inspired toward helping to create a peaceful world.

When discussing the need for peace, there are many who say,"But what can I do?"

The Pugwash Peace Exchange aims to help all of our visitors find their own answer to that very important question.

 Without Peace, Humanity Cannot Progress...

“On behalf of the Pugwash Peace Exchange, I would like to welcome all visitors to explore our site, and to learn more about our organization. We seek to create a place where people of all ages, from all walks of life, and from all corners of the world can come to learn about peace, and to find out how they can make a difference. The issue of peace is one that is very close to my heart, and one that should be close to all of our hearts – for without peace, humanity cannot progress."
